Roland VT-4 Voice Transformer
Roland VT-4 Voice Transformer is a real-time vocal processor building on the success of the VT-3. Designed to craft and shape your own custom vocal sounds, from subtle augmentation to radical transformation. While part of the renowned Aira range, this transformer is designed for adding both classic and futuristic effects to your voice. Offering hands-on control and a MIDI input so that you can ‘play it’ from your MIDI keyboard. Smoothly alter the pitch and formant of your voice; or add heavily processed vocal effects to your studio work, stage performances, podcasts, web streaming, and more.
All controls are conveniently located from the front panel so you can make tweaks as you sing without menu diving or programming. Plus, you’ll find dedicated Pitch and Formant sliders, while the central Auto-Pitch knob enables you to quickly dial in your desired amount of hard tuning. You can use multiple effects at the same time and save these setups as presets for later recall.
Packed with effects
Create remarkable effects such as; harmonizing, vocoding, pitch shifting, hard tuning, and more, with the dedicated pitch, formant, balance, and reverb sliders. A center wheel provides auto-pitch, while the dedicated robot, megaphone, vocoder, and harmony buttons allow you to mix and match. Each effect has a selection of one-touch variations, so you can get different vocoder characteristics and effects. Chain your effects, set the controls just how you like them, and then simply hold down a preset button to save that scene for later.
Up to eight scenes can be saved for instant recall. Change presets and tweak controls smoothly and immediately, with no jarring artifacts, glitches, or dropouts. Dramatically change your entire persona from male to female, big to small, or good to evil. Furthermore, you can power the VT-4 for up to five hours with batteries, making it truly portable.
If you plug in a MIDI keyboard you can use it to control the Auto-Pitch, harmony and vocoder engines. So, your voice can be hard-turned to specific notes as you sing, and you can create harmonies with voicings that follow the chords that you play. The VT-4’s performance-centric workflow means that it’s great for performers, while its USB audio output means that it should also be easy to hook up to your DAW in the studio.
Overall, the Roland VT-4 is the perfect vocal processor for the studio and performers.
