Korg ARP Odyssey
The Korg ARP Odyssey gives you an analog duo-phonic synthesizer based on the renowned 1972 ARP Instruments synth. A classic staple when it comes to synthesizers, KORG has teamed up with the co-founder of ARP. Completely reproducing the original circuitry of the original synth. As a result, the ARP Odyssey is perfect for artists looking to recreate classic sounds, as well as exploring new ones. While nailing every sound and feel of the original, right down to the sophisticated semi-hard case.
So while the legendary ARP sound is still loved to this day, KORG delivers with the revamped, full-featured ARP Odyssey.
The distinctive synthesis of the ARP Odyssey has been reproduced from the circuit level up
Originally, the ARP Odyssey was a 2VCO duo-phonic instrument. Offering a sharp, penetrating sound with a rich range of tonal variation, as well as a variety of functions and modulation possibilities.
With the Korg ARP Odyssey, these sounds have all been reproduced at circuit level. Under the supervision of David Friend, every detail has been adjusted to replicate the originals distinctive synthesis.
Filters of all three generations are provided
With three versions of the original ARP Odyssey, and three different filter circuits. Korg has provided all three within the ARP Odyssey. Allowing you to select your desired one with a single switch.
TYPE I (Rev1) is a 12 dB/Oct circuit that produces a sharp, punchy sound. TYPE II (Rev2) is a 24 dB/Oct filter with great-sounding lows. While TYPE III (Rev3) maintains excellent stability even when resonance is raised. All reproduced exactly like the original.
The new DRIVE switch
Additionally, the ARP Odyssey adds a brand new DRIVE switch. Allowing you to deliver an even more powerful analog sound. Turn it on and watch the VCA distort; generating a rough and raw sound.
