Aston Starlight
The Aston Starlight gives you a professional instrument microphone with a 20mm cardioid capsule. Hand-picked by a panel of more than 70 top producers in double-blind listening tests; the Starlight showcases a host of innovations including laser targeting, multiple voices (Vintage, Modern & Hybrid), and a near-perfect linear off-axis response. As a result, the Starlight instrument microphone has won a host of international awards including a nomination for 2018 NAMM TEC.
Class 2 Laser
The Starlight SDC adds a Class 2 laser with on/off switch. Allowing the user to recall mic positions in the studio so set up can easily be replicated. It also means you can mark mic positions on drums for your band and make setup a breeze. This laser is a world first and is a big leap in getting a consistent sound whatever the situation.
Sintered Metal Head
Sintering isn’t anything new to the world of microphones, but Starlight takes it further than ever before. Getting the perfect level of thickness to achieve near-perfect acoustic porosity. Additionally, the head is virtually indestructible. So like all Aston mics it can take any amount of studio/live use and will never let you down.
Voice Switching
What’s more, the Starlight has 3 modes of operation thanks to some front-end filtering between the capsule and PCB. Allowing you to choose between Vintage, Modern, and Hybrid settings to get the perfect tone response for your application. So whether you’re recording guitar cab, drums, strings, or vocals; the Starlight will be a perfect fit for your music.
Starlight Chassis
Finally, what makes the Starlight so unique is the custom finish of each chassis. There are no mass-produced paint jobs here, instead, each chassis is individually tumbled for 4 hours to give it a hard-wearing and beautiful look.
