Top 10 New Product Releases at NAMM 2018

1. JBL LSR 3 Series MKII

JBL have released their famous LSR series in a MKII version, better than ever before! A 6 inch studio monitor has joined the family. These monitors now feature next-generation JBL transducers for optimised transient response and improved linearity. They have a sleek, modern design and use new boundary EQ which delivers better bass performance when monitors are placed close to walls or corners. A very impressive new series.

2. Chauvet DJ Freedom H1

For such a little unit, this wash light really packs a punch. The H1 is a compact 100% TRUE wireless, battery-operated, single hex-colour (RGBAW+UV) 10W LED wash with a built-in D-Fi transceiver. It features a magnetic base making it easy to mount to most metal surfaces. This will be perfect for DJs looking to add colour to their set without carrying too much heavy gear. Super lightweight and super powerful. This will be sold in a 4 pack which includes 4 diffusers, a carry bag, multi-charger and IRC-6 remote.

3. Pioneer DJ DDJ-1000

We’re very keen to get these in stock. The DDJ-1000 features the pro layout of the NXS2 models, but at a very affordable price point. It is a compact, portable solution for DJs. Some new features include high-def LCD screens on each job wheels and you can easily select tracks you didn’t think were compatible with Rekordbox DJs new Related Tracks feature. Another great product from Pioneer.

4. Reloop KUT

A truly incredible battle mixer from Reloop. This digital 2 channel FX mixer is excellent for scratching. Scratch DJs couldn’t get enough of this unit at the show with it’s smooth faders. The fader section is equipped with an integrated innoFADER as well as two very smooth 45mm battle line-faders for precise cutting. A high-quality dynamic FX section in the centre of the mixer provides 7 effects and allows for creative remixing of your tracks. If you’re looking to do some scratching, this is the mixer for you.

5. Arturia MiniBrute 2S

An analogue sequence synthesiser with endless possibilities. The Minibrute 2S is a lot of fun. This hybrid synth has taken the vast sound design potential of the MiniBrute 2 and supercharged it with an advanced, triple-layered step sequencer. Due to the analogue, semi-modular architecture, you have hands-on control of every parameter. You can ride your filters, sync your LFOs, and control your envelopes on the fly to create a sound that’s totally unique. An excellent choice if you’re looking for a new synth.

6. New Ortofon Concorde Generation

In October 2018, Ortofon will be celebrating 100 years of business in the audio industry. To celebrate, they have released a new Concorde Generation. They have released the Mix, DJ, Club, Scratch and Digital Concordes as well as some new accessories including slipmats. Ortofon are the world leader in the cartridge industry and this new generation is taking DJing to another level.

7. Korg Prologue

Everyone couldn’t get enough of the Korg Prologue at the NAMM Show. Available in a 16 and 8 Voice, the Prologue is a fully-programmable, full-featured, professional synthesizer. This polyphonic analogue synth is equipped with a full-sized keyboard and powerful analogue circuits. Perfect for stage use, home studios and touring.

8. Elektron Digitone

Elektron have just released a very cool new digital synthesiser. This 8 voice polyphonic digital synth combines the FM sound generation with a classic subtractive synthesis signal flow. Loaded with features including Elektron’s acclaimed sequencing on-board and four independent synth tracks, each with a 4-operator FM synth engine featuring eight different FM algorithms. A very unique product which would pair well with the Digitakt.

9. Korg VolcaMix

Another fantastic product from Korg, the Volcamix; a 4 channel analogue performance mixer. Featuring easy to control volume faders, crisp-sounding LO/HI CUT filters, and a master chain that radically transforms the sound. In addition to the sync function found on all volcas, there are also DC output connectors that can supply power for up to three volca units. Just what you need to complete your volca collection.

10. Focusrite Clarett USB Series

A very exciting announcement from Focusrite, the Clarett sound is now available on USB! This new range of USB audio interfaces feature high performance, low noise mic pres with a low distortion, ultra-linear design that guarantees a clean, open and transparent sound, giving accurate representation of the original performance. Available in a 2PRE USB, 4PRE USB and 8PRE USB.
