Samson CL7A

The Samson CL7A gives you a large-diaphragm condenser microphone that delivers a balanced, detailed sound. Sporting a custom-tuned condenser capsule, the CL7A features rock-solid construction and exceptional electronics. So it's sure to become the go-to mic for either your home, project, or professional studio. Whether you're recording expressive solo vocals, acoustic guitars, flutes, or even upright bass; the CL7A is sure to deliver a professional sound. Not to mention, the CL7A handles extreme SPLs; so it's ideal for a guitar cabinet or overhead drum machine. Furthermore, inside the CL7A capsule, you'll find a 1.1" gold-sputtered, 3-micron thick diaphragm. Giving you a beautifully lush and balanced sound. While the smooth mids and slight high-frequency lift around 15kHz create a natural sound that gives you a nice acoustic ambiance when you're recording instruments. As well as adequate breathing space while you're recording vocals. On top of that, thanks to its cardioid pickup pattern, the CL7A enhances isolation during recording. Minimizing the sound captured from other audio sources sitting behind your CL7A microphone. As a result, the CL7A is great for both studio and live applications. While a selectable two-pole high-pass filter at 100Hz gets rid of unwanted low-frequency sounds such as stage rumble and wind. Boasting a robust capsule and electronics, the CL7A is able to withstand extreme SPL of up to 147 dB. Allowing you to capture powerful low-frequency content without any distortion. The CL7A also includes a 10dB attenuation pad; used to prevent overloading the onboard preamp by lowering the input sensitivity of the microphone amplifier circuit. A useful feature when you're close-miking loud sound sources with extremely high transient sounds like drums, cymbals, or brass instruments. Finally, inside its die-cast body, the CL7A has an internal shock mount for extra isolation.
