LD Systems XS 400
The LD Systems XS 400 Power Amplifier gives you a compact and dependable Class D amp. Boasting an output of 200W per channel at 4 ohms; 400W in 8 Ohms bridged mode, as well as a wide frequency response range of 20Hz – 20kHz. Thanks to Class D technology, the XS 400 packs high performance into a compact space without losing too much energy. Boasting a 1U format and a weight of only 3.4kg, the XS 400 is perfect for all professional applications that need portability and space whether mobile or permanent.
What’s more, the XS400 has all the protection circuits against short-circuiting, DC, overheating, and overloading. When it comes to I/O, the XS 400 amplifier features XLR, RCA, and Jack input connectors with Speakon-compatible sockets and screw terminals as outputs. Then, on the rear panel, you can select the mode of operation, gain and activate the limiter and ground-lift function. There’s also LED’s on the front to indicate power, signal, clipping, and triggering of the protection circuit.
Above all, the transparent sound of the XS 400 stands out thanks to its high dynamics and impulse fidelity.
Inputs
On the rear panel of the XS 400, you will find 2x Balanced 3-pin XLR line inputs for both Channel A and B. You can alternatively use the 2x Balanced 6.3mm jack inputs for Channel A and B. The XS 400 offers Unbalanced RCA inputs for Channel A and B. The line inputs are used to connect to a mixing desk or another signal source. When in bridge mode; Channel A must be used as the input.
There are several additional functions at your disposal. The Ground ON/OFF function allows you to eliminate ground loop hums. This can occur when connecting devices with a different ground potential. The Switchable clip limiter is also present. This limits the power amplifier output to the maximum possible output level.
Outputs
The XS 400 has a Mains Voltage Input of 115V~ / 230V~. The first set of output options use Speakon Connections types for Channel A and B. Here you can make a connection of speakers or speaker systems with a total impedance of at least 4 ohms per channel. The second output option offers Terminal Clamps for each of the two channels.
Connection of speakers or speaker systems with a total impedance of at least 4 ohms per channel. Connect the positive pole (+) of the speaker cable to the red terminal clamp (+) and the negative pole (-) of the speaker cable to the black terminal clamp (-) of the respective channel. In bridge mode, the red Channel A terminal clamp must use as the positive pole (+). The red Channel B terminal clamp must be used as the negative pole (-). A note must be taken into account when In bridge mode; the total impedance of the connected speaker system must not be less than 8 ohms.
3x Modes
You can switch between 3 modes on the back of the XS 400. In stereo mode, power amplifier channels A and B operate independently. Both stereo signals and entirely different signals can be amplified via channels A and B. In Parallel Mode the signal on input A is switched in parallel on both amplifier channels. As a result, the volume is adjusted using the volume controller of channel A. Input B and volume controller of channel B is disabled. Finally, In bridge mode, output stages A and B are connected to a more powerful mono output stage.
XS 400 Front panel features
The front panel offers 2x independent Volume controls for Channels A and B. In bridge mode, Channel A volume becomes the master volume channel. The front panel also offers feedback on the signal condition of your setup. Aside from the Power information the LED’s will display Singal A/B Information, Signal Clipping, Protection Indication and Current Mode Selected.
Also available is a wide selection of PA Speakers.
