Behringer RD-8 MKII

The Behringer RD-8 MKII gives you everything you need to become a pro beatmaker. Packed with features, the RD-8 includes 16-drum sounds, a 64-step sequencer, a Wave Designer, as well as a dual-mode filter. Giving you a fully-fledged drum machine that’s sure to shake the house! So whether you’re new to drum programming or you’re a seasoned professional looking to upgrade your setup; the RD-8 MKII has everything you need to step up your game.

Masterpiece Rejuvenated

Reviving the timeless analog design of the 808 and making even further refinements; the RD-8 MKII is the closest thing you’ll get to the original renowned drum machine. All while tapping into some new features as well. Most notably, the RD-8 MKII now features a faithful reproduction of the 662 OTA chip. This will provide you with the most authentic sounds you can find. Whether you’re looking for hard-hitting bass drums or sizzling hi-hats; everything can be manipulated to elevate your performance.

Live Performance Beat Master

Enhancing the way you perform, the RD-8 MKII is full of features for live performances. Including step repeat, note repeat, real-time triggering, and live step-overdubbing. Making it easier than ever to build song structures on the fly; then switch back to manual mode with the touch of a button. You can even use the autofill feature to introduce even more variations. As well as cue up another song from the RD-8 MKII memory to perform an entire set from start to finish.

Powerful and Feature-Rich Sequencer

Additionally, the RD-8 MKII boasts one of the most powerful step sequencers ever created. Providing an even better workflow over the original thanks to storage for up to 256 patterns and 16 songs. So whether your song arrangement is simple or complex, the RD-8 MKII has you covered.

RD-8 MKII – Wave Designer and Dual-Mode Filter

An integrated Wave Designer with individual attack and sustain controls can be applied to individual voices. This will bring another dimension to your drum beats. Providing yet another way to control sounds and build unlimited new tones. There’s also an incredibly flexible dual-mode 12db filter button to toggle between LPF and HPF. So you can experiment with cut-off frequency and resonance controls to create entirely original beats.

Parameter Chaining

The robust encoder will allow you to separate chain preferences for each parameter. As a result, it allows them to function globally or to switch on when a song or pattern changes. For further control, patterns can be changed at any time when using the RD-8 MKII as the heart of your live setup. Parameters include tempo, swing, flam, probability, independent track mutes/solos, FX bus assignments, filter modes and sweeps for enhanced real-time control.

USB Control

You can also sync the RD-8 MKII with a USB. This will provide you with sync and MIDI triggering possibilities and enables the RD-8 MKII to be controlled by your DAW. The added benefit is that it will allow songs and patterns to be swapped or individual sounds to be triggered.

Physical control functions on the RD-8 MKII

The RD-8 MKII  features 29x knobs, 5x stitches and 59 buttons. They are all laid out for you in a highly intuitive and organised format. Input and output connections include Phones; Mono audio; MIDI In, Out and Thru over USB and 5 pin MIDI ports; and 11 independent analog outputs for external processing or recording your rhythms as multitrack audio. Furthermore, it will also send and receive clock information with highly accurate timing to sync it to the outside world. The RD-8 MKII will also allow you to control synths and hardware sequencers with its 3x trigger outs.
