Behringer CM1A Midi To Cv Converter Module

The Behringer CM1A is a High-Resolution 16-Bit Midi To Cv Converter Module for the Eurorack system. It allows you to control any modular synth in your setup with a MIDI Keyboard, Sequencer or DAW. As a result, you can open up an infinite number of ways to make some amazing tunes and a whole realm of sonic possibilities. Furthermore, its equipped with a premium 16-Bit Texas Instruments DAC that ensures the highest resolution sound quality and pitch accuracy.

Modular Synthesis

It includes the traditional 5-pin DIN MIDI In and Thru ports and a USB-MIDI port. Additionally, it allows you to switch between standard V-trig, S-trig (which is used on the historically accurate Behringer System 55, 35, and 15 modules), or use both simultaneously. When integrating the CM1A  into your setup, you can now control your synths in a multitude of ways. Connect your computer to the USB port on the CM1A and control your CV and Trig outputs via a DAW. The CM1A can even receive firmware updates through this connection. Want to use your MIDI controller instead? Plug it into the MIDI In with your other devices to the MIDI Thru port and transmit signals by playing as you would.

Dual trigger outputs

The CM1A also comes equipped with dual trigger outputs. This essentially means that you can use it to control any of your favourite envelope generators. You can even switch between V-trig, S-trig or both types of outputs simultaneously via the Trig Mode Switch. Installing the CM1A is easy as it fits into a standard Eurorack case. Just connect the power cables to the power supply and mount the module using the included screws. This allows for the CM1A to be mixed with other synth modules for a truly unique setup. Whether you’re just getting into modular synths or looking to complete your collection, the CM1A module from Behringer is a great tool to have when creating amazing music.

CM1A Front Panel

The CM1A consists of the following inputs/outputs and features. At the top is a USB connection. This allows you to connect to a computer to transmit MIDI control signals to the CV and Trig outputs. The module can also receive firmware updates via this connection. Next, you will find a  MIDI IN where you can connect a MIDI controller to transmit signals to the CV and Trig outputs. Below the MIDI IN is a MIDI THRU connection which you can pass the signals received at the MIDI In jack to other devices.

The CV will send control voltages received via USB or MIDI to other modules. The TRIG will send trigger signals received via USB or MIDI to other modules. The TRIG MODE allows to selects whether the Trig outputs function as V-trig or S-Trig. In the middle position, the upper output functions as S-trig and the lower output functions as V-trig.

DJ City also offers a wide range of additional Eurorack Modules that can be combined with the CM1A.
