Just point it towards the beater and you will capture the attack as you needed. By simply adjusting the C112 you can aim the mic directly at the beater for more attack, or towards the far edge of the drum for a more resonant tone. This way you can capture the best of both worlds.
The C112 will provide you with a frequency response of between 50Hz to 14kHz and a max SPL of 150db. The Super-cardioid Uni-directional polar pattern provides an outstanding sound source separation and unsurpassed audio quality.
