This complete collection of premium drum microphones is ideal for studio recordings and live performances. The microphones provide you with a rugged reliable metal die-cast body construction and are perfect for studio and performance use. They also offer gold-plated 3-pin XLR output connectors that will provide the highest signal integrity.

The kit BC1500 provides you with a 1x (C112) premium large-diaphragm dynamic microphone specially designed for bass drum and low-frequency instruments. 4x (TM1500) dynamic percussion microphones for snare, toms and other acoustic percussive instruments and 2x (CM1500) matched condenser microphones for overhead stereo drum imaging with switchable low-frequency roll-off.

C112 Bass Drum Microphone

The Behringer C112 is a Premium Large-Diaphragm Professional Dynamic Microphone for Bass Drum. It features an optimised frequency response for Bass Drums (Kick Drum) and provides incredible high-quality performance. So whether you’re mixing a recording or monitoring a bass line, you want a microphone that combines superior attack and punch. Preferably some type of microphone that is suitable for studio-quality sound and even at extremely high sound pressure levels with ultra-low noise floor. The C112 is deal as the main or support microphone for studio recordings and live performances.

The BC1500 Set includes the C112 dynamic microphone which offers a strong low-frequency response. As a result, it is specifically tailored for bass frequency applications. This means that you can use the C112 with kick drums, bass drums, bass guitar, cabinets and brass instruments. In fact, any instrument that requires low-end capture such as other traditional low-frequency applications including a piano.

For the best results, you can mount the bass drum microphone onto a short microphone stand, then position the mic just inside the kick drum port. Then aim the microphone directly at the beater for more attack, or toward the far edge of the drum for a more resonant tone. This Dynamic Uni-directional polar pattern microphone will offer you a frequency response between 50Hz and 14kHz; with a signal to noise ratio of 79db.

TM1500 Tom/Snare Microphones

The BC1500 kit offers 4x TM1500 microphones for capturing snare and toms. These Dynamic Uni-directional polar pattern microphones will offer you a frequency response between 50Hz and 14kHz. Featuring a fully tuned response for toms and snares; these high-quality medium diaphragm dynamics also offer a signal to noise ratio of 75db. For the best results, you can screw the mounting clips onto each microphone so that the mic points towards the clip end. You can then attach each microphone onto the hoop of a tom or snare drum. The distance from the microphone to the drumhead is adjustable, as well as the angle. Then position each microphone towards the centre of the drum head.

CM1500 Cymbal Microphones

The BC1500 kit offers 2x CM1500 microphones for capturing Cymbals. These Condenser Cardioid polar pattern microphones will offer you a frequency response between 50Hz and 18kHz. Featuring a fully tuned response for a crash, hat and ride cymbals; these directional small-diaphragm condensers also offer a signal to noise ratio of 70db. The CM1500 microphones, have a built-in 10dB pad and feature a low-frequency roll-off.  For the best results, screw the mic clips onto a pair of tripod boom stands. You can slide the cymbal microphones into the mic clips and position them in one of these patterns. Unlike the Dynamic C112 and Dynamic TM1500 in the BC1500 kit, the CM1500 are Condenser Microphones that will both require 48V phantom power to function correctly.

Each microphone should be ideally positioned about 3 ft (1 m) above the ride cymbal and hi-hat, pointing directly down. Both microphones should be positioned directly above the snare drum in an “XY” pattern. This basically means that the capsule ends should be nearly touching, one pointing at the ride cymbal and the other at the hi-hat.

BC1500 Accessories

The package includes; 1x Kick Drum (C112), 4x Tom/Snare (TM1500) and 2x Cymbal (CM1500) Microphones. These compact and versatile microphones are suitable for precision and close-microphone recordings. As a result, they will provide an accurate reproduction of the entire drum.

The BC1500 kit further provides you with microphone clamps, 5/8” threaded adapters, a windscreen and an aluminium carry case.
