Australian Monitor began in 1973 when Rod Craig, Roy Morgan, and Alan Clarke founded Audio Telex Communications to distribute Telex products in Australia, eventually expanding their range to include installation audio products and unique zoning solutions. Over the years, they acquired several companies, such as Techcraft and Australian Monitor, before being acquired by Hills Industries in 2005 and later by Amber Technology in 2019, becoming a leading distributor of AV products in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
