Universal Audio Volt 4 Max USB Audio Interface (12-in/6-out)

The Universal Audio Volt 4 Max brings record-making controls to a compact desktop setup. It pairs Tone Shaping Preamps and Max Processing with clear feedback from its Smart Display. Meanwhile, Auto-Gain and Clip Protection keep level-setting simple. In addition, expanded I/O gives growing studios room for instruments, monitors, headphones, MIDI, and digital expansion.

Shape Your Sound at the Source

Two Tone Shaping Preamps offer three character modes: Warmth, Focus, and Shine. As a result, vocals and instruments get a distinct tone before you record. Max Processing also adds six compressor presets for vocals, guitars, and bass. Together, these controls help you find an inspiring starting point without reaching for software first.

Keep Recording Levels Under Control

The full-colour Smart Display shows inputs, levels, settings, and gain-reduction metering at a glance. Auto-Gain sets recording levels quickly, while Clip Protection helps manage sudden peaks. Because of this, you can stay focused on the performance instead of watching the meters.

Monitor and Expand with Confidence

Speaker switching gives you Main and Alt monitor outputs. Two headphone outputs also share a cue mix for monitoring and working with others. For inputs, you get two mic/line inputs, front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs, and extra line I/O. Furthermore, independent +48V phantom power per channel supports condenser mics as your setup grows.

Connect a Complete Creative Setup

ADAT or S/PDIF optical input adds digital expansion. Similarly, MIDI In and Out connect compatible controllers and instruments. Built-in loopback suits podcasting, streaming, and content creation. Moreover, the built-in talkback mic keeps studio communication close at hand. Finally, the Volt 4 Max is USB bus-powered and class compliant for Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone. However, power requirements vary by model and device.

Start with FREE UA Software

Every Volt 4 Max also comes with FREE UA Software, including LUNA and the UAD Volt Studio Bundle. You also get third-party software bundles, but all bundles may change without notice.
