The Tascam CA-XLR2D-C is a professional audio XLR Microphone Adaptor for Canon Cameras. The new CA-XLR2d XLR Series Audio Adapters are available in three configurations:

  • (1) the CA-XLR2d Canon Kit
  • (2) the CA-XLR2d FUJIFILM Kit
  • (3) the CA-XLR2d Analog Interface Kit for use with Nikon cameras and others.

Each kit combines the leading camera manufacturers’ expertise with high-quality audio capturing technology from TASCAM.

Thanks to the co-design and evaluation of a digital hot shoe connection with Canon that is compliant with their multi-function shoe, digital audio transmission directly into the camera and bus power supply from the camera is available for a cable-free system with high mobility. The CA-XLR2d is also planned; to be compatible with the multi-function shoe of the Canon XF605 Professional Camcorder. This combination provides a maximum of 4 XLR input channels in addition to the built-in 2 XLR channels on the camcorder. Product compatibility includes a Mirrorless camera [EOS R3], Professional Camcorder [XF605].

With the included 2 x AA battery box and cold shoe mount adapter, the CA-XLR2d also works with existing cameras that do not have the multi-function hot shoe by connecting an analog audio cable between the CA-XLR2d’s analog out and camera’s mic-in

Equipped With a High-performance AD Converter, Direct Transmission of Digital Audio to the Camera

Because of TASCAM know-how and premium AD converters, the CA-XLR2d is all about clean, noise-free, professional audio. It enables high-quality audio and smart voice recording utilizing various specialized brands of audio equipment. By transmitting digital audio directly to the camera via an accessory shoe that supports digital transmission, there is no deterioration in sound quality, but it also frees you from the work of synchronizing images and sound in post-production. In addition, the CA-XLR2d is driven by the power supply from the camera, so if you connect it to a compatible camera, you can have a compact operation without the need for a dedicated power supply.

High-performance HDDA Mic Preamplifier Achieves High Sound Quality, Low Noise, and Wide Dynamic Range

CA-XLR2d is equipped with a high-performance microphone preamplifier that can process anything from room tone to explosions and support a wide range of sets and environments. As a result, each input supports microphone/line level switching and a + 48V phantom power supply. CA-XLR2d allows input of dynamic microphones, condenser microphones and line-level audio signals from a mixer.

Tascam CA-XLR2D-C is Designed For a High Degree of Freedom

A cold shoe on the top panel expands setting flexibility. The shock mount mechanism is vibration resistant, noise-friendly and also allows the connection of various microphones. Two XLR/TRS input terminals and one 1/8-inch stereo mini microphone input terminal support multiple shooting scenarios. CA-XLR2d has the flexibility that adapts to the gear necessary for the job.

Built-in Processing With User-friendly Control and Highest Recording Quality

CA-XLR2d includes internal processing such as Auto Level, Low Cut Filter, and Limiter, all using convenient switches.
The CA-XLR2 also supports the 1+2 LINK function, which allows you to adjust the L-R volume simultaneously when recording in stereo.
The premium sound quality is possible because of professional-grade 16bit/24bit, 48kHz/96kHz bit rates and sampling frequencies.

CA-XLR2d-AN is also compatible with virtually any camera that has an analog audio input. Attach the included battery box (2 AA batteries), and connect the analog output of CA-XLR2d to the microphone input of the camera with an audio cable.
