Sound Edit capabilities and instrument parameters like tuning, muffling, soft attack, tone color, pitch sweep, volume, pan and reverse make it easy to shape sounds to suit the song or performance. It’s a practical fit for drummers and percussionists who want more control from one unit.
Roland OCTAPAD SPD-30 and the Phrase Loop workflow
Phrase Loop lets you record in real time and overdub up to three layers, which is great for building patterns, sketching ideas or adding texture during a performance. With 50 phrases, 3 parts and tempo control from 40 to 260, the SPD-30 supports quick idea capture and performance use without getting in the way of the groove.
Version 2 features for live playing
Version 2 expands the SPD-30 with more kits, controllable Phrase Loop functions, Kit Chains and Output Gain Function. In addition, the large backlit LCD and pad indicator lights help keep things readable in low-light settings. Four external trigger inputs, plus HH CTRL, also let players add pads or connect triggers from acoustic drums.
