At its core, the U 87 Ai uses a pressure gradient transducer and a dual diaphragm condenser capsule design. Made for Established Studio Rigs
The microphone uses an XLR 3 F matching connector and a supply voltage of 48 V ± 4 V through P48, with current consumption of 0.8 mA. Its 500 g weight, 56 mm diameter and 200 mm length give it a clearly defined physical format for positioning in a recording setup.
