Nektar Aura
The Nektar Aura gives you a powerful beat creation and performance instrument/MIDI Pad Controller. Boasting a number of incredible features, the Aura features 16 hyper-sensitive RGB illuminated pads, on-board step sequencer, flexible pad repeat engine, and incredible plugin control. Not to mention the fact it easily brings that exciting drum-machine-style workflow to any DAW or external MIDI setup.
Play & Perform
Thanks to its 16 velocity and aftertouch-sensitive pads, the Aura allows you to play and perform to your hearts content. As well as juice up your performances with tools like Pad Repeat and record it entirely in your DAW of choice. Although the Aura is compatible with most of the popular digital audio workstations; it perfectly compliments the Nektar Nektarine DAW.
Step Sequencer
Not only is the Aura a powerful MIDI controller, but it also features a built-in step sequencer. Allowing you to program beats and tweak parameters directly using the Aura, without the need for a computer. Not to mention you can also combine it with your existing external MIDI gear!
Plugin Control
Another great feature of the Aura is its ability to build and control VST, VST3, or AU instrument and FX plugins. Thanks to the onboard display, the Aura allows you to control your plugins with full and intuitive feedback. Including built-in maps for many of the most popular plugins; as well as an easy-to-use graphic map editor so you can create your own.
Access Your Sounds
Sporting a convenient patch browser, the Aura allows you to easily select and load plugins and patches. While Nektarine’s powerful database keeps your sounds organized and instantly accessible!
Finger Drummers Delight
With the 16 RGB-illuminated pads, the Aura is perfect for finger drumming and triggering at the lightest touch. It’s also fully set up already if you decide to pair your Aura with the Nektarine DAW. But keep in mind, they’re also highly customizable. Allowing you to tweak pad sensitivity, and playing style thanks to the 4 different velocity curves and adjustable bias parameters.
There’s also an on-board Pad Repeat engine that you can easily access. Allowing you to create complex hat rolls and other percussive lines that you’d find difficult to play by hand. These settings are all highly customizable with real-time parameters for both groove and speed control.
You can also adjust a number of other parameters include Repeat Rate, Gate, Accent Interval, Accent Velocity Offset, Swing, Trigger Mode, and Clock Source.
Nektar Aura – Easy DAW Integration
Finally, using the Aura to control your DAW has never been easier. All you need to do is press the convenient DAW button and you’re good to go. While the Aura can be mapped out and used as a controller for almost any software, DJ City are happy to say that it sports full DAW integration with the following programs:
