HR824MK2 Mackie 8 Inch Pro Studio Monitor
HR824MK2 Mackie 8 Inch Pro Studio Monitor is the successor of the popular HR series monitors from the ’90s. The HRmk2 series manages to improve on the widely-used originals, this high-quality active two-way studio monitor is perfect for stereo or surround mixing applications. The monitor is THX pm3-certified, great for creating high-definition audio for video, film, and video game projects. The monitor has an 8.75″ low-distortion woofer and a 1″ titanium dome tweeter to provide clear, lifelike sound across a full frequency spectrum. Internal amplifiers provide 250W of total power for a strong performance.
New features, such as the solid cast-aluminium Zero Edge Baffle keeps diffraction to a minimum for excellent imaging, while the optimised waveguide provides a wide sweet spot, and the internal cabinet damping eliminates midrange artifacts, providing even more accurate, natural sound reproduction. The cabinet is OmniMount ready, allowing it to be mounted easily on a wall or ceiling.
The rear panel of the cabinet has XLR, TRS, and RCA input connectors for compatibility with virtually any audio gear you can throw at it. Designed with high-definition audio in mind, controls for Low-frequency roll-off and high-frequency shelf functions are also included. Along with acoustic space matching allowing you to customize the monitor to your specific workspace for optimum performance the HR824MK2 provides exceptional clarity for surround 5.1 and 7.1 applications.
Ample wattage, time correction
The HR824mk2’s 8.75″ low-frequency driver receives 150 watts from an onboard FR (Fast Recovery) amplifier. The waveguide-loaded aluminium dome tweeter is powered with 100 watts, and an active crossover helps to eliminate phase anomalies. These monitors also include time-correction circuitry, which allows the highs and lows to reach the listener at the same time.
Acoustic Space Control
An integrated Acoustic Space Control feature makes these monitors ideal for locations (such as video post suites and home/project studios) where available space is limited. This feature gives you full space, half-space, and quarter space settings, which adjusts the bass response when they’re away from walls, against walls, or set up in corners. Low frequency roll-off and high frequency shelf functions are also switchable on the back panel.
New baffle design
The HR824mk2 features a Zero Edge baffle, which is constructed from a solid piece of aluminium. The new baffle design minimizes diffraction and helps provide a clear sonic image, as well as tight bass response. An optimised waveguide disperses sound evenly over a wide field, as well as providing robust mids. These improvements to frequency response and depth of field make the HR monitors sound better than ever.
