Eight High-Performance PreAmps
The 8x PreAmps on the Clarett Plus 8 PRE offer pristine gain, high headroom, low noise and low distortion. Exclusively designed for the Clarett+ range they offer the proprietary Air feature that switches in an analog model of Focusrite’s acclaimed classic transformer-based ISA mic pre. It allows for vocals to shine with presence and silky air. It does this by switching the impedance to 2.2k and adding two cumulative high shelves, totalling a 4dB boost in the high frequencies. The all-analogue Air with impedance switching and relay control is great for capturing vocals, drums and acoustic instruments with precise clarity.
When capturing sound through the preamps you can hear every nuance. You are able to capture the clearest and most powerful sounds with abundant headroom and low distortion. The Clarett Plus 8 PRE also features 2x JFET instrument inputs that preserve the natural tone of guitars. These are dedicated ultra-high-impedance instrument inputs featuring an extremely wide audio bandwidth. They mimic guitar amp inputs in order to preserve the natural tone of a guitar and capture its true character.
New and improved A-D and D-A Converters
The newly designed A-D and D-A converters provide artists with an extremely wide dynamic range, low noise and low distortion. Engineers and producers will love the improved D-A converter as it offers a dynamic range that embraces a no-compromise audio quality in abundance. The Clarett Plus 8 PRE will maintain the purity of analogue in your recordings and mixes. Plug-In Suite with Clarett Plus 8 PRE
Included with the Clarett Plus 8 PRE is the Red 2 & Red 3 Plug-in Suite. This suite accurately models the Focusrite Red range of both the equaliser and compressor hardware. The original Red 2 and Red 3 is still regarded as prized fixture in professional recording studios the world over. They are recognised by producers and engineers for their exceptional clarity and versatility. So you can now have access to these revered pieces as plug-ins on any instrument or bus channel in your own mixes. These plug-ins offer users the Focusrite sound with three classic processors from Focusrite’s 40 year legacy of precision studio sound.
The Clarett Plus 8 PRE also includes the Brainworx bx_console. This plug-in is an authentic emulation of the classic ISA 110 module which is found in Focusrite Studio Console. Originally created when Sir George Martin asked Rupert Neve for custom modules for AIR Montserrat studios.
Finally, the Focusrite Control software will give you complete control over all aspects of the Clarett Plus 8 PRE. This feature-packed software is easy to use and is compatible with both Mac and PC.
Expand your interface with ADAT-compatible outboard equipment
The Clarett Plus 8 PRE allows you to maintain analogue purity with extreme clarity. This clarity is across the board whether you are multi-tracking a drum kit or connecting a synthesizer or outboard equipment. You can also expand the Clarett Plus 8 PRE via ADAT (Alesis Digital Audio Tape). This will add an additional 8x inputs and outputs using the Clarett OctoPre.
