More than a million ZLX units later, the new ZLX G2 continues that success story. It marks the entry point into the Electro-Voice portable loudspeaker range and improves on the original with higher maximum SPL, wider frequency response, and greater durability. Ergonomic upgrades also make setup and transport easier than ever.

ZLX-12 G2 builds on the audio quality that made the original series so popular. Its increased SPL and premium internal components deliver powerful, clear sound for both live and installed applications.
Each model uses a woofer and compression driver coupled through Electro-Voice’s patented SST (Signal Synchronized Transducers) ported waveguide. This design extends low-frequency response and maintains smooth coverage across both vertical and horizontal planes — all in a compact enclosure. The result is a punchy, balanced sound worthy of the Electro-Voice name.
The passive version connects via standard NL4 sockets, wired in parallel to pass all pins. For best results, pair it with a Dynacord DSP amplifier using the official Electro-Voice speaker settings from the SONICUE Sound System Software database.
Form And Function Redefined
Electro-Voice redesigned every part of the enclosure for strength and usability. The cabinet, made from rugged polypropylene, features a new structural “spine” and an embossed EV logo.
Its symmetrical 55° sides let performers place the speaker as a floor monitor with a steeper listening angle for better on-stage clarity. A built-in 23° kick-back angle allows upward projection when used vertically. When placed directly on a subwoofer, the enclosure now faces straight forward without needing a pole mount.
Multiple mounting accessories expand flexibility. A U-style wall bracket supports vertical or horizontal installation. Long-arm pole-mount brackets allow tilt adjustment for the 12″ and 15″ models, while a short-arm version suits the 8″ model. Protective slipcovers are also available for all sizes.
