Boss BD-2W
The Boss BD-2W Waza Craft Blues Driver is a pedal that offers overdriven tones from creamy leads to crunchy rhythm sounds. It can faithfully express the tone change caused by moving the knobs on the guitar. Furthermore, it can create distortion that can faithfully reproduce the picking nuance of the player. You can achieve a wide variety of distortions from crunch to hard distortion, by adjusting the Gain Knob.
The BD-2W is a popular pedal that provides drive ranging from warm overdrive to emotive distortion that responds both to your playing style and dynamics, similar to the responsiveness and tone of a vintage vacuum tube amplifier.
Passionately designed by the master engineers at BOSS in Japan, the Waza Craft Boss BD-2W delivers a premium stomp experience that fans of customized pedal tone will love. Crafted with an ear for highly refined sound, the BD-2W takes the classic Blues Driver grit to a new level with all-discrete analog circuitry. Standard mode captures the classic BD-2 tone while Custom mode delivers a new body and sustain.
Physical Controls
The BD-2W offers three tone-shaping controls for you to introduce when playing blues. The LEVEL knob adjusts the volume of the effect sound. When turning the LEVEL knob counterclockwise threshold you will hear no sound. The TONE knob allows you to adjust the brightness of the sound. Rotating it clockwise will create a sharp sound with emphasized treble. While turning it counterclockwise will create a soft sound with a cut to the treble. Finally, the BD-2 offers a GAIN knob that lets you adjust the gain of the blues driver. By rotating the knob clockwise it will increase the gain creating harder distortion.
BD-2W Custom Mode
A new feature on the BD-2W from the original blues driver is the inclusion of a Mode Switch. You are now able to switch the tonal character between S and C modes. In S (standard) mode the BD-2W will function with the original tone of the BD-2. However when C (custom) mode will add a tone that adds sustain and body.
Physical Connections
The INPUT jack on the BD-2W will accepts input signals (coming from a guitar, some other musical instrument, or another effects unit). The INPUT jack also serves as the power switch. This means that the power is turned ON when you insert a cable into the input jack. It is then turned OFF when a cable has been removed.
