Boss AW-3
The BOSS AW-3 Dynamic Wah pedal gives guitarists a wide range of classic auto-wah and dynamic wah effects, plus a new “Humanizer” effect which can simulate human vowel sounds. A Bass input provides a variety of funky wah sounds for bass guitar.
A “Talking” Pedal
The AW-3 Dynamic Wah is the first compact wah pedal to incorporate human voice-type sounds through a new “Humanizer” Mode. Of course, you can also choose from standard up-and-down wah effects, plus a Tempo Mode and resonant synth-like Sharp Mode.
Endless Possibilities
Choose from both fixed and auto wah settings using the Manual control or pedal for tempo input. You can also connect an optional expression pedal to the AW-3. This allows the expression pedal to be used as Pedal Wah effects. Furthermore, a dedicated Bass input permits direct processing of bass guitars.
Physical Controls
The AW-3 is a versatile effects pedal so it offers you plenty of tone-shaping abilities. The [DECAY] knob, allows you to adjust the length of time the wah effect is applied. The [MANUAL] knob, will adjust the frequency at which the wah effect begins. By turning the [SENS] knob, it allows you to adjust the amount of effect that is applied in response to the input level.
There are also 3 modes available to you, these are Up, DOWN and SHARP. By moving the dial to UP, it provides a wah effect in which the filter shifts to higher frequencies. Whilst moving DOWN provides a wah effect in which the filter shifts to lower frequencies. In SHARP mode, the AW-3 provides a stronger wah effect with shifting of the filter to higher frequencies.
You can also access the Humanizer functions on the AW-3. In this mode, you can transform the sound of your guitar into the sound of a human voice. You can further control the Humanizer mode by connecting an expression pedal. You can easily achieve this by connecting a BOSS/Roland expression pedal to the EXP/CTL jack. As a result, the unit then operates as a humanizer, letting you use the pedal to control the transition from VOWEL 1 to VOWEL 2.
