RD-8 MKII – Wave Designer and Dual-Mode Filter
An integrated Wave Designer with individual attack and sustain controls can be applied to individual voices. This will bring another dimension to your drum beats. Providing yet another way to control sounds and build unlimited new tones. There’s also an incredibly flexible dual-mode 12db filter button to toggle between LPF and HPF. So you can experiment with cut-off frequency and resonance controls to create entirely original beats.
Parameter Chaining
The robust encoder will allow you to separate chain preferences for each parameter. As a result, it allows them to function globally or to switch on when a song or pattern changes. For further control, patterns can be changed at any time when using the RD-8 MKII as the heart of your live setup. Parameters include tempo, swing, flam, probability, independent track mutes/solos, FX bus assignments, filter modes and sweeps for enhanced real-time control.
USB Control
You can also sync the RD-8 MKII with a USB. This will provide you with sync and MIDI triggering possibilities and enables the RD-8 MKII to be controlled by your DAW. The added benefit is that it will allow songs and patterns to be swapped or individual sounds to be triggered.
Physical control functions on the RD-8 MKII
The RD-8 MKII features 29x knobs, 5x stitches and 59 buttons. They are all laid out for you in a highly intuitive and organised format. Input and output connections include Phones; Mono audio; MIDI In, Out and Thru over USB and 5 pin MIDI ports; and 11 independent analog outputs for external processing or recording your rhythms as multitrack audio. Furthermore, it will also send and receive clock information with highly accurate timing to sync it to the outside world. The RD-8 MKII will also allow you to control synths and hardware sequencers with its 3x trigger outs.
