Benefits of DAB+ Technology
DAB+ is the most widely adopted radio transmission worldwide. It offers users a far more advanced transmission system that is robust. The benefits are exceptional sound quality, on-screen information, increased broadcast range and more stations to choose from. The Rome Black also allows you to listen to ordinary DAB channels without an internet connection.
You can also receive ordinary FM stations without an internet connection. Just place the radio close to the window and extend the antenna as far as it can go to get the best reception. You may need to adjust the direction of the antenna to improve reception.
Rome Black with Bluetooth
On top of all that, the Rome Black Internet Radio doubles as a Bluetooth speaker. So you can stream your favourite music straight from your smartphone, tablet, or another Bluetooth enabled device. It even features Spotify connect so you can easily start playing directly from your Spotify app. Finally, the Rome Black Internet Radio features a 3.5mm headphone output; as well as AUX-in and Line output for streaming directly from external devices.
External Devices and LAN Wifi
You can listen to the music stored on other audio devices such as a smartphone on the radio. This is achieved through the 3.5 mm Aux-in jack on the rear side. Use the cable with both ends in a 3.5 mm pin. One end to the Aux-in jack on the radio; the other end to the earphone jack on the audio device or if it has a line out socket.
The Internet connection can be set up via Wired LAN or Wireless LAN (WiFi). The Rome Black Radio requires a broadband Internet connection through wired Ethernet or WiFi. The easiest way is to use a CAT 5 or CAT 6 cable. Just connect through wired Ethernet to a Wifi router. This connects to an Adsl modem or a cable modem provided by your ISP.
Finally, the Rome Black also ships with a fully functional remote control for wireless operations.
