How To Clean Your Smoke Machine In 5 Easy Steps
Smoke Machines are arguably the coolest way to make your party a memorable, ultimate night. Seeing the beams of light cut across the dance floor right before your eyes (especially after a few drinks) makes us all get a little excited. Let’s face it; when the smoke machine starts, we’ve all tried to touch the lasers. It never gets old.
But to keep the party going , you need to take care of your fog machine! Like all of your equipment, it requires some maintenance and here’s a quick guide on how to do it properly.
Why Do I Need To Clean My Smoke Machine?
Over time, smoke fluid can crystallise inside the machine causing all kinds of issue. Cleaning your smoke machine regularly prevents any build-ups, allowing for better output and longer life. Not all fog fluids are the same, and lower quality fluids can be more prone to crystallising than high-quality ones. So to help prevent this issue, we strongly advise that you use high quality Smoke Fluid, plus it will give a much better effect.
How Often Do I Need To Clean My Machine?
The general recommendation to keep your machine operating at 100% is once every 35 – 40 hours of use.
How to Clean Your Smoke Machine
Step 1: The Feeding Tube
Remove the feeding tube from your machine’s fluid tank and place it in a cleaning solution. We’d highly recommend Magic Mist’s SMM-Cleaner.
Step 2: Heating
Turn on your Smoke Machine and allow it to heat up.
Step 3: Cleaning
(With the feeding tube in the cleaning solution)
Hold the fog button down on your controller allowing the cleaning solution to pump through the machine.
For a quick clean, we recommend 20-30 seconds.
For a heavy-duty clean (when a machine has very low output), hold until the smoke machines output increases to its normal level.
Step 4: Smoke Fluid
Empty the old fluid out of the tank, and re-fill the tank with fresh, new Fog Juice.
Power up your smoke machine and let it fog as usual for a few minutes, to clear out the cleaning solution.
Step 5: Machine is Now Ready
Your Smoke Machine is now ready for your next event! Get partying!
