The XDJ-RX3 takes its design cues from the CDJ-3000 player and DJM-900NXS2 mixer, but in a compact controller-style all-in-one setup. The mixer, effects controls, Performance Pads and illuminated play/cue buttons all sit where Pioneer DJ users would expect them, making it easier to move between the RX3 and a more advanced CDJ-style setup.
Each jog wheel features a built-in LCD screen showing the playhead position, track information and artwork. This gives you a quick visual check of what’s loaded without constantly looking back at the main display. Feeling Adjust controls also let you change the resistance of each jog, whether you prefer a lighter response or something with a little more weight.
Find Tracks Faster on the 10.1-Inch Touchscreen
The high-resolution 10.1-inch touchscreen gives you a clear view of your library, waveforms and performance information. Its responsive interface shows more of your music at once, which means less scrolling when you’re working out what track to cue next.
Playlist Bank keeps four favourite playlists within one tap, while Touch Preview lets you audition different parts of a track without loading it onto a deck. Phrase Display maps sections such as the intro, chorus and breakdown across the waveform, helping you read the structure of an unfamiliar track at a glance.
The XDJ-RX3 also supports 3Band Waveforms colour separation for rekordbox-analysed tracks. By using different colours to show the low, mid and high frequencies of the waveform, it gives you a useful visual check when planning a transition on the fly.
Shape Your Mix with Beat FX, X-Pad and Release FX
The XDJ-RX3 gives you 14 Beat FX and six Sound Colour FX from the DJM-900NXS2, including Filter, Ping Pong, Phaser, Slip Roll, Vinyl Brake, Helix, Space and Crush.
Save four go-to effects in the Beat FX Bank, then bring up the on-screen X-Pad to adjust an effect’s timing with a swipe. The Pad Status display also shows the current Performance Pad mode, so you know exactly what will happen before you hit one.
You also get eight Release FX variations directly on the Performance Pads. Use Echo Out for a clean transition, Build Up to raise the tension, or reach for Backspin and Vinyl Brake when the moment calls for something more dramatic. Everything is within easy reach, so you can put your own stamp on the mix without breaking your flow.
Play Standalone with rekordbox or connect Serato DJ Pro
Export your rekordbox-analysed library to USB and play without bringing a laptop. Two USB-A ports make DJ changeovers and back-to-back sets easier, while connecting a PC or Mac lets you control rekordbox Performance mode or Serato DJ Pro from the XDJ-RX3.
The RX3 is a rekordbox Hardware Unlock device, giving you access to compatible Performance mode features while connected. Serato DJ Pro also works with the unit, but requires a connected computer; standalone playback uses rekordbox-prepared USB drives.
There’s enough connectivity here for more than a basic two-deck setup. Add turntables or line-level players, connect two microphones and bring in another audio source through the AUX inputs. Balanced XLR master output, RCA master output and a separate booth output make the RX3 easy to work into mobile rigs, venue systems and home studios.
The integrated audio design also helps reduce unwanted noise, with detailed tuning for clear low-end and balanced mids and highs.
