ART Pro MPA III Multivoice Tube Preamplifier
Bring more control and character to microphones and instruments with the ART Pro MPA III. It is a two-channel preamp built around discrete Class A FET circuitry and selectable tube or solid-state voicing. Its rackmount format, flexible impedance controls and balanced outputs make it a practical upgrade for a mixer or audio interface.
Choose Your Signal Character
Firstly, each channel lets you choose a 12AT7 Tube or Solid State Voicing. So, you can select the signal path that suits the recording. Tube mode offers the stated tube response, while solid state provides its own wider response. The Voice switch makes that choice easy to reach during setup or tracking.
Dial In Microphones and Instruments
XLR microphone and 1/4″ instrument inputs give each channel room for different sources. Variable microphone impedance from 600Ω to 80 kΩ lets you tailor the preamp to a microphone, while the low cut filter can reduce unwanted low-frequency content. Instrument Level DI Inputs keep direct sources close at hand.
Shape Vocals with Useful Control
The Character switch enhances low and high frequencies to compensate for microphone transformer non-linearity and improve vocal intelligibility. Add the 20 dB boost when more gain is needed, use phase invert when required, and monitor levels on the analog VU meters while setting output level.
Connect It to Your Studio
Balanced XLR and 1/4″ outputs suit the preamp’s two-channel role, while selectable +4 dBu or -10 dBV operation matches different operating levels. With 70 dB of maximum gain and a universal internal power supply accepting 100-240V, it fits neatly into a modern rack-based studio setup.
