Sequential TAKE 5 Polyphonic Synthesizer

The Sequential TAKE 5 is a compact and fully featured full-throttle VCO/VCF-based polysynth. It provides a perfect gateway to subtractive synthesis and the creative power of some of the best synthesizers. Its portable size means that you can take it anywhere and however it doesn’t compromise on features and playability. It will still feature the genuine Sequential sound qualities that you would expect without breaking the bank.

Compact size with ingenious features

Considering the rich set of features and control on the TAKE 5, it is still a portable synth. With 44-full-size keys, it will fit right into your studio or on stage and still provide you with an abundance of controlled quality tones. The layout on the TAKE 5 provides you with immediate access to the most essential sound-shaping controls.

Its top control panel arrangement is almost a knob-per-function. It also provides you with an ingenious key-split feature that gives you access to a wider playable range than other compact synths. This is thanks to letting you divide the 3.5-octave keyboard into two separate performance zones.

Vintage and Modern synthesizer

The TAKE 5 produces smooth, warm and punchy sounds that sit perfectly in a mix and cuts through clearly on stage. This is largely part due to the five voices on the TAKE 5 getting their distinctive sound from a combination of two analog VCO’s and a Sub-Oscillator. The signal then passes through a Prophet-5-lineage and 4-pole analog filter. Furthermore, the Vintage knob will recreate the characteristics of a vintage synthesizer by introducing parameter variations from voice to voice. Perfect for creating a genuine vintage character.

Additional features include dual-digital effects, a dedicated overdrive, continuously variable waveshaping, and front-panel access to analog FM. These configurations allow for the TAKE 5 to shift between modern and vintage tones.

TAKE 5 is a Powerful Synthesis

The TAKE 5 also has global and per-voice Low-Frequency Oscillators. It sports five-wave shapes that include; triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square, and random (sample and hold). Clock sync that can be set as internal or external using a MIDI clock. 2x 5-stage envelope generators (ADSR + delay) with variable routing (filter, amplifier, auxiliary). Extensive modulation Envelopes that are freely assignable to multiple modulation destinations. Polyphonic step sequencer with up to 64 steps with ties and rests. Finally, the multimode arpeggiator syncs directly to the Global/MIDI clock and can be used in (up, down, up+down, random) assign modes or as a re-latching arpeggiation.

The Full-sized premium key-bed is made by Fatar and are semi-weighted with velocity and aftertouch. Above all, it makes it a pleasure to play with wherever you take it.

DJ City also offers a quality range of Sequential Synthesizers.

OSCILLATORS

  • Two analog VCOs per voice
  • Continuously variable wave shape (sine, sawtooth, variable-width pulse) per oscillator
  • Hard sync: oscillator 1 syncs to oscillator 2
  • Square wave sub-octave generator (oscillator 1) per voice
  • Keyboard tracking on/off for each oscillator
  • Front-panel FM (frequency modulation)
