sE Electronics X1S

The sE Electronics X1S gives you a refined version of sE’s best-selling X1; tuned for advanced performance in every way imaginable. Since introducing the X1 in 2010, sE redefined what’s possible out of an affordable and hand-crafted condenser microphone. Offering the highest dynamic range and SPL handling capabilities in its class; the X1S has improved in every way. As well as being even more affordable than the original.

Similar to its predecessor, the X1S hand-made condenser capsule has been meticulously constructed and tuned in sE’s capsule room. Taking performance to a new level, the X1S has also been redesigned to allow for improved sensitivity, and up to 160dB SPL Handling which is a huge reduction in self-noise.

Featuring both -10dB and -20dB pad switches, the X1S extended dynamic range enables a wide range of applications and close-mic techniques for even the loudest instruments. Selectable at either 80Hz or 160Hz, these two filters help eliminate low-frequency rumble as well as compensate for excessive bass with close-mic techniques.

Finally, unlike other cheaply constructed “entry-level” microphones; the X1S is housed in an all-metal chassis, providing you with an efficient rejection of any electrical interference and noise. While the high-quality finish means it will look great for years.
