Roland TR-8

The Roland TR-8 is a performance rhythm machine, melding the legendary sounds and vibe of the TR-808 and TR-909 with features and functions for the modern age. Featuring genre-defining sounds, classic effects, unprecedented live pattern manipulation, and solid, intuitive performance controls.

Arguably the most influential drum sounds in modern music, the TR-808 and TR-909 have defined the sound of music genres for decades. From rap, house techno and trance, these drums have left an indelible mark on music culture. Therefore, Roland has obsessively analyzed and recreated the sounds from these legendary rhythm machines with the Roland TR-8. Featuring the boom and snap of the 808; the thud of the 909; the robotic click of an 808 rim shot or a classic 909 snare roll. These classic instruments have been enhanced, going far beyond the capabilities of the original units.

Another addition, Tune and Decay knobs are present on every TR-8 instrument. While the Bass and Snare drums have additional controls such as Attack, Snappy, and Comp. Allowing for a wide variety of tones, from subtle ambient percussion to pounding dance grooves.

With the authentic tone and character of the original units, and its new sound tweaking capabilities. Roland breathes new life to the sounds we know and love with the TR-8. Hence, every control has a solid and predictable feel, with robust playable faders. Likewise, numerous lighted knobs and RGB buttons on the Roland TR-8 give both real-time performance feedback and a sleek look while on stage

Overall, the Roland TR-8 looks great and is designed to work seamlessly with other products in the AIRA series. In addition,  connect the Roland TR-8 to your computer via USB to send and receive both audio and MIDI data, including MIDI clock information for syncing with external devices and other AIRA units.
