Expressive Hands-on Control

The SP-404MKII features 17x ultra-expressive pads and updated knobs that provide smooth, hands-on control. Beat-making has become even quicker than ever before with a speedy boot time, swift project loading and sample import. Accessing projects has also become easier and convenient with the 16GB internal storage. Longtime users and new beatmakers alike will feel right at home with the intuitive layout and classic SP effects. Plus a revamped sampling and sequencing workflow, Skip Back Sampling for quick performance capture, DJ mode to mix beats live, and more.

The blazing onboard sample editing offers real-time or auto-chop mode and auto BPM detection. An envelope, pitch shift, and resampling for layering sounds and phrases are also ready for you to take full control of. For instant inspiration, the SP-404MKII provides you with 144x high-quality pre-loaded sounds in the library. All samples and patterns have been professionally recorded for optimal quality.

On the go users, you can bang out beats anywhere with AA or mobile battery power. When using Alkaline batteries the operating time is approximate 2.5 hours as Ni-MH batteries offer 3.5 hours of use. You can capture audio from or stream directly to your mobile device via USB, or collaborate with a partner using the dual headphones outputs and mic/guitar input.

Process, flip, and twist your sounds with legendary SP effects and a selection of new classics. SP staples like Vinyl Simulator and DJFX Looper are now joined with powerful additions that include Lo-fi, Cassette Simulator, and Resonator. The SP-404MKII also lets you layer and route multiple simultaneous bus effects for intricate sound textures. You can alternatively plug into the mic/guitar input and jam with ready-to-go Vocoder, Auto Pitch, and Guitar Amp Simulator effects. There are a total of 37x types of Multi-effects and 2x types of Input Effects.

The SP-404MKII offers extensive onboard effects which include SP classics like Vinyl Simulator and DJFX Looper. A new Lo-fi, Cassette Simulator, and Resonator effects, and dedicated Vocoder, Auto Pitch, and Guitar Amp Simulator effects for the mic/guitar input. Furthermore, it includes 32-voice polyphony, 160x samples per project, and 16x internal projects that allow for expanded programming possibilities.

The SP-404MKII offers a sampling rate of 48kHz with a maximum sampling time of 16 minutes or (approximately 176 MB per sample).
