MIDAS 512
The MIDAS 512 brings you a compact, 4-band, fully parametric EQ. Featuring technology based on the channel strip in the legendary MIDAS HERITAGE 3000 mixing console. Use the MIDAS 512 in conjunction with the Legend L10, L6, or other standard 500 series rack mounts. Providing the ideal parametric EQ solution if you’re seeking MIDAS performance in a modular format. Boasting upgraded, and premium-quality performance.
Class-Leading EQ
A Parametric EQ allows you to address multiple parameters with high precision when applying filters to an audio signal. Therefore, you can cut or boost a specific frequency by an exact amount, across an adjustable bandwidth or “Q”. Enabling you to fine-tune the filter, reducing the gain at frequencies prone to feedback. Or, remove undesirable tonal qualities and their overtones. Having the ability to boost the gain at certain frequencies gives you the ideal way to add punch to your bass and kick drum signals, or add presence to your vocals or solo instruments.
MIDAS 512 Parametric EQ utilizes 4 overlapping frequency bands so you can easily and expertly craft professional-grade output signals. Whether you’re recording in the studio or performing live. MIDAS products are recognized by engineers worldwide as a class leader in warm response and delivery. The MIDAS 512 is no exception
Precision Dual Concentric Controls
Built from the bottom up, the 512 EQ strip operates across 4 overlapping frequency bands: Bass (20 Hz to 400 Hz); Lo Mid (100 Hz to 2 kHz); Hi Mid (400 Hz to 8 kHz); and Treble (1 kHz to 20 kHz). Additionally, the Frequency and Gain (-15 dB to +15 dB) adjustments are provided in the form of stacked dual-concentric controls, with Gain on the knob and Frequency on the outer ring. Giving you instant access to fully variable gain and frequency settings in their respective operating bands.
Bass and Treble Bell Switches
Furthermore, the MIDA 512’s Bass and Treble Width controls are non-functional while in the default MIDAS shelving mode. When the Bell switches are pressed and illuminated, the Bass and Treble Width controls give you parametric operation. While the Lo Mid and Hi Mid-frequency bands are always in parametric operating mode. Engage both Bell switches, and all 4 Width controls will give you fully variable parametric equalization.
Overall, the MIDAS 512 Parametric EQ offers the perfect solution for adding that classic “MIDAS touch” to your mix!
