Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen USB Audio Interface (Cubase LE Included)
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen is a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface for recording vocals, instruments, podcasts and livestreams. It combines two detailed 4th-generation mic preamps, Hi-Z instrument inputs and studio-grade converters with a 120dB dynamic range.
Auto Gain, Clip Safe and up to 69dB of analogue gain make it easier to capture clean, dependable levels. You also get Loopback, two re-engineered Air modes, Cubase LE and Focusrite’s Hitmaker Expansion software bundle.
What’s New in the Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen?
Compared with the Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen, the 4th Gen increases the microphone preamp gain range from 56dB to 69dB, providing more clean gain for quieter microphones and recording sources.
The 4th Gen also has Auto Gain can set an appropriate input level automatically, and Clip Safe for reducing the gain if your signal is in danger of clipping. Air mode now offers separate Presence and Harmonic Drive settings, providing more control over clarity, warmth and saturation than the single Air mode on the 3rd Gen.
The 4th Gen model also adds Loopback, more detailed Gain Halo and output metering, improved conversion and a redesigned headphone amplifier for clearer, more powerful monitoring.
Record Vocals, Instruments and More
Connect microphones, guitars, basses, synthesisers or other line-level equipment and record directly into your DAW on Mac, Windows or a compatible iPad. The two 4th-generation Scarlett preamps provide clean gain for dynamic and condenser microphones, while the front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs are designed to give guitars and basses a natural, amp-like response.
Studio-Grade Conversion and Monitoring
The Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen records at up to 24-bit/192kHz. Its 120dB dynamic range helps preserve detail across quiet passages and louder performances, while the redesigned headphone amplifier delivers clear monitoring during recording and mixing.
You can also independently control the headphones and monitor outputs directly from the interface instead of turning on/off your studio headphones and studio monitors manually.
Loopback for Streaming and Content Creation
Loopback routes stereo audio from music apps, browsers and other software directly into your recording software without physical cables. Use it for sampling, podcasting, livestreaming and capturing computer audio.
Cubase LE and Hitmaker Expansion Included
Cubase LE gives you a capable DAW for recording, editing and producing music, with included instruments, effects, loops and samples.
Focusrite’s Hitmaker Expansion adds tools for vocals, guitar tones, drums, keys, mixing and mastering from brands including Antares, Softube, XLN Audio, Native Instruments and Relab.
