Fenton SHFS12B 12″ Inch HiFi Active Subwoofer
The Fenton SHFS12B gives you a powerful 12″ Subwoofer with a high-power 400-watt amplifier and a 12″ injection moulded long-throw woofer. With an adjustable crossover frequency between 50 and 150Hz; the SHFS12B takes care of everything below the set value. Therefore, you’re relieving your other speakers in the system from those lower frequencies.
Phase polarity control
The phase control on the back of the SHFS12B will allow you to add electrical delay to the incoming signal. You can switch between 0 or 180 degrees. When you reverse the polarity of the subwoofer; the subwoofer driver will move inwards while the other speaker drivers in the system will move outwards.
Magnetic shielding for noise reduction
The SHFS12B also features magnetic shielding for noise reduction. This essentially means that you can place the SHFS12B next to an LCD or Plasma TV. Unshielded speakers have a tendency to produce interference or distorted colours that occur on the monitors from the speaker magnets.
Also present is in the SHFS12B is a 400W Class-D amplifier. A Class-D amplifier basically shifts the sampling frequency at which it operates and in doing so it uses much smaller power transformers. This is also beneficial as it takes up less interior space.
Take functional control of the SHFS12B
On the back of the SHFS12B, you will find bot a volume and frequency dial. Volume is great for controlling the maximum output of the amplifiers and adjusting the subwoofer to a specific room. The frequency dial will provide further control over the Low Pass Frequencies of the subwoofer. You can adjust the response between 50Hz and 150Hz and create the optimal sound quality to suit your needs.
Still on the back, are stereo RCA inputs or standard speaker terminals that can be connected to a receiver or amplifier. The Phase control switch allows you to reverse the phase by 180degrees and the auto switch essentially turns the power off when there is no signal present.
