FaitalPRO FD371 8 Ohm, 37mm & 35W Compression Driver
The FaitalPRO FD371 compression driver gives speaker builders a detailed high-frequency component with defined electrical, acoustic and mounting parameters. Its annular Ketone Polymer diaphragm, ferrite ring magnet and 8 Ohm nominal impedance make it a practical choice.
High-Frequency Detail
Firstly, a 107 dB sensitivity rating and 40° dispersion angle describe the driver’s acoustic behaviour. Meanwhile, its 2.6÷20 kHz frequency range covers the high-frequency band specified for the unit. The 2.6 kHz minimum crossover frequency gives designers a clear figure to consider when setting the crossover point.
Purpose-Built Diaphragm Assembly
The 37 mm (1.46 in) voice coil works with a Ketone Polymer annular diaphragm and annular phase plug design. An Al winding, Kapton former, 2.1 mm winding depth and 2.6 mm magnetic gap depth document the driver’s internal construction for technical design work.
Power and Mechanical Planning
With 35 W AES power handling and 70 W maximum power handling, the FD371 has defined limits for system calculations. Its 1.5 T flux density and ferrite ring magnet are paired with a 79 mm depth, 107 mm bolt circle and 91 mm baffle cutout for installation planning.
Installation Information
The 115.2/102 mm overall diameter and 5.5 mm flange and gasket thickness add useful detail when checking the available baffle space. At 1.3 kg net weight, the compression driver also gives builders a straightforward figure to account for when planning the finished enclosure.
