The DBX 286s is a full-featured Channel Strip Processor. Delivering a studio-quality microphone/instrument preamp with four processors; used either independently or in any combination. So why mic up your vocals and instruments using a noisy, blurry mixer?
The DBX 286s is sonically pristine with all the features you need. Including wide-ranging input gain control; switchable +48V phantom power; and an 80Hz high-pass filter to remove low-frequency hum, rumble and wind. While the patented dbx OverEasy compressor can transparently smooth out uneven acoustic tracks, or deliver that classic in your face compressor sound. Additionally, the frequency tunable De-Esser eliminates vocal sibilance and high-frequency distortion from your instruments and cymbals. As well as the ability to add sparkle and crispness to your trakcs by making adjustments to the frequency detail controls. Finally, the DBX 286s has separate threshold and ratio controls on the Expander/Gate allowing you to subtly reduce any headphone leakage or gate-noisy guitar amps.
Offering a full complement of metering and status LED’s, the DBX 286s visually guides you to help achieve the right sound. While the floating balanced XLR Mic Input allows you to easily connect professional and home-studio microphones. And the 1/4″ TRS Line Input can process live electronic instruments or pre-recorded tracks at mixdown. You can use the insert jack to interface between the mic preamp and signal processing sections. Allowing you to “loop out” to external processors such as an EQ or delay unit, or mix out to an external destination.
