Boss AC-3
The Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator is a useful effect that turns your electric guitar into a virtual acoustic. It uses the advanced propriety COSM modeling technology. The AC-3 features Standard, Jumbo, Enhanced, and Piezo-equipped modes, as well as a built-in reverb effect.
Separate outputs, one for guitar amps and one for PAs or recorders, allow for versatile configurations for the stage or studio. As a result, the AC-3 gives you an acoustic-like tone without having to carry a separate guitar.
Advanced Modeling
BOSS’s COSM Acoustic-Modeling technology is beautifully showcased in this small but powerful pedal. It simulates an acoustic guitar much more precisely and realistically than previous technology has allowed. Derived from BOSS top-of-the-line AD-8, the AC-3 simulates the sound of an acoustic guitar with incredible precision. Four simulation modes are provided and consist of Standard, Jumbo, Enhanced, and Piezo-equipped. The latter supplies that famous “cut through the mix” direct piezo sound. Previous compact acoustic-guitar modeling pedals were promising, but now the bar has been raised with AC-3.
AC-3 Fine Control
Top and Body controls are provided for shaping the characteristics of the four acoustic models. The controls allow you to create the perfect acoustic guitar sound quickly and easily with simple knob twists. Here you can fine-tune the virtual-body resonance to match your guitar’s tone for the desired result. You can also add further depth and sweetness to your sound with the AC-3’s built-in digital reverb. So its like getting two versatile guitar pedals in one.
Versatile Output Paths
Two sets of outputs are provided for connecting the AC-3 to a standard guitar amp and to a direct input device such as a PA, recorder. Alternatively, you can use an acoustic-guitar amp configuration such as a Roland AC-60.
DJ City also offers a wide range of additional BOSS Effects Pedals.
