Nine polar patterns, for amazing versatility

Furthermore, the AKG P820 Tube comes complete with a remote power supply with a rotary switch. Letting you select from 9 individual polar patterns, including; Omnidirectional (Fully Counter-Clockwise), Cardioid (Center), and Figure-8 (Fully Clockwise). Within those settings, you’ll find six intermediate patterns with dented switch positions. So you can easily reproduce your desired settings within the heat of a session. On top of that, the gorgeous sonics and high SPL capabilities of the P820 make it the go-to studio mic for a number of recording applications.

What you can do with this workhorse mic

Finally, the P820 is a microphone boasting versatility. If you’ve got two singers and one mic; simply set the AKG P820 to figure-8 and you’re good to go. Alternatively, record sax solo overdubs, mic up your drums, and even record an orchestra. You don’t even need to get into the intermediate polar pattern settings to see just how versatile the P820 Tube Mic can be.
