Adam Audio T5V Nearfield Studio Monitor – 5 Inch
The Adam Audio T5V Studio Monitor is a highly affordable two-way nearfield monitor and optimised for small control rooms.
With its 5” woofer the bass-frequency response of the T5V extends to 45 Hz.
Also, the new U-ART tweeter is a breakthrough solution for use in high-resolution recording and mixing on a budget.
What’s more, it goes up to 25 kHz. Additionally, it is mated to a precision waveguide with the same dispersion-control attributes as the High Frequency Propagation (HPS) waveguide used in ADAM Audio’s flagship S Series monitors. The HPS provides a wide sweet spot that frees you from a rigid mix position while working.
A beveled cabinet with a rear-firing bass reflex port and a small footprint allows placement anywhere. It also contains built-in DSP-controlled driver crossovers and equalization as well as multi-way analog connections. Powered with a 50W Class-D amplifier for the woofer and a 20W Class-D amplifier for the U-ART tweeter, the T5V produces SPLs of up to 106 dB per pair.
T5V features excellent acoustic characteristics, small dimensions and an outstanding cost/performance ratio. This makes it perfectly suited for use in small control rooms in music, video and broadcast production.
Additionally, if you need to hear more bottom end, the T5V is compatible with the ADAM Audio T10S subwoofer.
STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGY
- 1.9″ U-ART TWEETER: based on those used in the X-ART and S-ART tweeters from the AX Series and S Series.
- HPS™ WAVEGUIDE: The HPS (High-frequency Propagation System) hones the dispersion of the speakers to an even, uniform consistency, broad in the horizontal axis but tightly focused in the vertical plane.
- PWM – PULSE WIDTH MODULATION: T5V features PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) aka Class D amplification or Switching Amp Technology. It converts the incoming signal to a series of rectangular waveforms of equal height. The width of the rectangles varies in time and the relation of the width of the rectangles represents the musical signal. This waveform can be amplified much more simply, as the transistors are not modulated anymore; instead they are used as switches that only turn the power supply voltage on and off.
Furthermore, ADAM Audio’s T5V has won multiple awards including
- Winner – MIPA AWARDS 2018
- Nominee – TEC AWARD
- Excellence Award – MUSICTECH
- Best Studio Monitor – DJ MAG TECH AWARD
