Can I connect a microphone to a Bluetooth PA speaker?

Yes, as long as the speaker has a compatible microphone input. Many Bluetooth PA speakers include an XLR, 6.35mm or combination mic/line input, but the number of inputs and available controls vary between models. A wired microphone can connect directly, while a wireless microphone normally requires its own receiver plugged into the speaker. Bluetooth is generally used to stream music from a phone or tablet rather than to connect a professional wireless microphone.
Can I use a Bluetooth PA speaker for DJing?

Technically, yes, you can. But it’s best to connect your DJ controller directly to the speaker via an audio cable if you’re performing. Bluetooth can introduce a noticeable latency delay between operating the controller input and the resulting audio output, making accurate cueing and beatmatching quite troublesome and not worth the convenience of wireless connectivity. Only use the speaker’s line input for the main DJ audio and reserve Bluetooth for background music or playlists when latency is not super important, so when you’re not performing for a crowd in any official capacity. Also check that the speaker provides enough output and coverage for the size of your event.
Are all Bluetooth PA speakers battery-powered?

No. “Powered” means that the amplifier is built into the speaker; it does not necessarily mean the speaker has a rechargeable battery. Many professional powered speakers still need to be connected to mains power. If you need a speaker for busking, outdoor presentations or locations without easy access to a power point, look specifically for a battery-powered model and compare its expected operating time at the volume you intend to use.
Can you connect two Bluetooth PA speakers together?

Some models can link two compatible speakers wirelessly, but this feature is not available on every Bluetooth PA speaker. Depending on the model, linked speakers may operate as a stereo pair or play the same mono signal through both units. A more reliable, latency-free option would be to connect the audio output of one speaker to the input of the second using a cable. Check the product specifications for wireless linking, stereo pairing or audio output connections before buying two speakers.
