LD Systems Dave 18G3 – Compact 18″ Inch Active PA System 4800W
The LD Systems DAVE 18G3 is a powerful 18″ Inch Active PA System. It features a dual satellite PA System that delivers crystal clear, dynamic audio with punchy lows in a compact package. The DAVE 18G3 offers a frequency response between 32 Hz and 20 kHz with an SPL of 135dB. As a result, the DAVE 18G3 is an excellent choice for a wide variety of mobile and installed sound applications.
The DAVE 18G3 features an 18“ Bass Reflex Subwoofer and 3 x Class D amplification modules that provide a power output of 4800 watts. The build quality is excellent with hard-wearing 15mm birch plywood.
It also features Digital signal processing, multiband limiter, short circuit and overcurrent protection to ensure superior sonic performance and reliable operation. The DAVE 18G3 subwoofer provides XLR, 6.3mm and RCA input for a wide range of signal sources. It also includes individual system and sub-level controls, a phase reversal switch and the satellite connectors are Speakon compatible.
Inputs and Outputs
On the rear panel, you will find an Unbalanced Line Input for both left and right channels with 2 RCA jacks. Line Inputs consist of a 2x Balanced 3-pin XLR / 6.3 mm jack (combo jacks). The DAVE 18G3 offers 2x Balanced Line Outputs with 2x male 3-pin XLR connectors. The output signal corresponds to the input signal. A phase reverse switch provides a selection between 0-180 degrees. In unfavourable acoustic conditions, the setting of 180 degrees may have a positive effect on the overall sound. The DAVE 18G3 also offers an independent control knob for both the SUB and MAIN volume levels.
Limiter and System Protection
4x Indicator LEDs provides feedback on Power, Singal Present, Limit and Protection. Once you connect the main power and switch the system on, the ON Indicator will light up. The SIGNAL indicator will light up as soon as an audio signal is present.
The DAVE 18G3 also features a LIMIT indicator which will light up if the loudspeaker system is operating in the clipping range. A short flash of the LED is not critical. In order to protect the system, the built-in limiter will gently reduce any excessive signals present.
If the limiter LED lights up permanently or for longer periods, reduce the volume level. Failure to do so may result in a distorted sound and damage to the speaker system. Finally, the PROTECT indicator will light up if the system is overloaded or overheated. The amplifiers are muted automatically. Upon reaching normal operating conditions, the device reverts to normal operating mode, after a few minutes.
