BOSS MT-2 30th Anniversary Pedal

Originally introduced in 1991, the Boss MT-2 Metal Zone remains the king of high-gain distortion stomps. Used by guitarists all over the world, more than MT-2’s have been sold and counting. Delivering a thick and saturated sound, the MT-2 is perfectly suited to metal styles as well as heavy rhythms and soaring solos. With an incredibly wide tone-shaping range and ultra-smooth sustain; the MT-2 brings an array of rich distortion voices to any musical setting.

Step into the Metal Zone

The MT-2 is BOSS’s second most popular drive pedal after the DS-1 Distortion. Allowing you to achieve dense, heavy crunch with singing sustain; the MT-2 provides an instantly inspiring experience no matter what your skill level. Thanks to its smooth character, active EQ, and semi-parametric midrange; the MT-2 also works well with all types of guitar amplifiers including clean “pedal platform” amps.

Innovative Dual-Stage Gain Circuit

Pop the hood on the MT-2 and you’ll find an innovative analog circuit design that realizes its rich, heavy voice. Two gain stages are configured in series with the first providing mid-focused clarity feeding the seconds more aggressive character. While carefully tuned pre- and post-distortion filtering (seven total stages) ensure your tone is tight and well defined at every setting, without any mud whatsoever.

Shapeshifter

What’s more, the MT-2’s advanced tone shaping goes far beyond the capabilities of most analog drive pedals. Allowing you to dial in everything from chugging, mid-scooped rhythm mayhem as well as bold cutting sounds. Post-distortion Low, Middle, and High knobs offer +15dB cut or boost to perfectly match your guitar and amp. Or even create some entirely new tones. The midrange is the heart of every guitar’s voice, while the MT-2 provides a variable control to set the frequency anywhere from 200Hz to 5kHz.
